Sandeep Kajal

I am Dr. Sandeep, currently a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur. I completed my Ph.D. in Quality, Reliability, and Operations Research (QROR) at the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Kolkata. The title of my Ph.D. thesis is "Study on Determination of Optimal Parameters for Shewhart Control Charts and Other Related Methodologies". Before joining ISI as a research scholar, I worked as a Junior Research Fellow in M.D. University, Rohtak, in the Research Project titled “Study of Quantile Based Information Theoretic Measures on Order and Record Statistics,” funded by SERB-DST. I completed my M.Sc. in Mathematics at the Central University of Haryana, Mahendergarh.

Research Interest
  • My research focuses on finding the optimal parameters for various types of control charts, like the u-chart, p-chart, and CUSUM chart. I am working on proposing the economic statistical design & multi-objective economic statistical designs of these charts and, respectively, solving them using the Genetic Algorithm (GA) & the Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm II (NSGA II). I am currently focusing on proposing the economic statistical design & multi-objective economic statistical designs of these charts under the influence of different kinds of loss functions, such as the Linex loss function and the Taguchi loss function. I also aim to apply statistical quality control techniques to enhance quality assurance and risk management within supply chains.
